Photoshop for the text message

In our plan we had a text message screen that featured our opening, however this changed later on to become a text that our main character Alice reseaves from her stalker. This meant we had to produce an even more realistic text message screen as it wouldn't feature only the names of people who worked on the opening.

I used Photoshop to create the text messaging backkground to make sure it has a clearer picture on screen. On Photoshop I drew the boxes and made them gradiented to make them resemble the graphics found on the smart phone we used in the opening. I looked at a number of phone layouts and found that the set up of the above text messaging screen is the most common, whereas the biggest changes were the placement of the battery, signal bar and time box. However, to make sure there was no confusion or limitation of what the time could be for later on in the film or any changes we would make when filming, I didn't include the time box. I also used a simple generic typography and also carried on the slight comic theme we wanted to include in our first plan with Bobtext. In order to make it believable I also had to include logos from other companies such as Apple IPhone's battery and signal strength logo opposed to drawing them. This appeals to our comic based psychographic and to our young audience who would be able to tell the difference between a real text message screen because of their constant interactivity with them.
